Learning The Five Senses Of Love

Valentine’s Day is around the corner again, the day where couples splurge on expressions of love. Some will come together while others may decide to part on that very day!

Whatever the case, Valentine’s Day is not the only day where you can show your love and appreciation to your partner, or friends or family. Every day should be a day of love.

Sight

A smile is worth a thousand words.

While there may be days when either of you feel down, always have a smile for your significant other. It shows that you value their presence.

On dates, be it whether married or not, do look presentable and attractive so you look good for each other.

Smell

Find out what your partner’s favourite smell is – is it a flower? Or is it spice related? You can get a perfume with the subtle fragrance, so that his nose is always attracted to your presence.

In addition, you can also consider aromatherapy in the house or bedroom. Soothing aromas can lessen any tension or stress, and create a calming environment. You can either use the aroma oils or the scented candles.

If you shave regularly, you may opt for a pleasant smelling shaving cream. There are also nice-smelling bathing lotions and shampoos (flower, fruit fragrance etc).

Speech

Communication is first and foremost in a relationship or marriage. Therefore be aware that words can hurt and heal very easily.

Express your love for each other as often as you can. You can either say it, or if you’re too shy, communicate through the mobile or social media avenue.

Always be interested in each other’s lives. How are their days going? What happened during the dinner with the colleagues? What are the updates at work?

Sometimes arguments may ensue and sharp words exchanged. At the end of the day, patch up with each other. Saying sorry won’t take a pound off your flesh yes?

Let the beauty of what you love by what you do.

Taste

If Yan can cook, so can you!

Having a home-made meal is the best of all, because it shows your effort and appreciation for your other half. Even if you can’t cook a full-fledged meal, preparing some finger foods for snacks or just the coffee for their breakfast is good enough.

Touch

Hold hands more!

Touch is a very calming action. It lends security, warmth and sincerity. Learn your partner’s sensitive spots, or stressed spots for that matter. Like how simple caresses or a deep massage can do wonders, wholehearted hugs also lay a good foundation for a relationship.
